About

Pourvoirie Dorion sits on beautiful Lac Nilgaut (about 10 km long by 2.25 km wide) in the Outaouais, a lake known for its lake trout (gray trout) fishing: plentiful catches in the 1 to 4 pound range and fish over 20 pounds taken every year. Area wildlife includes moose, black bear and white-tailed deer, along with timber wolf, lynx, fox, beaver and many birds (ducks, loons, bald eagles). In season the outfitter also offers black bear hunting over baited sites (zone 12), with fishing included during the stay. Lodging is in fully equipped rustic chalets (wood heating, electricity, hot and cold running water, full kitchen, interior bathroom, BBQ), accommodating 2 to 8 people, all with a view of the lake and sunsets. Run by brothers Pete and Mike Dorion, owners since 2023, who emphasize hospitality, selective harvesting and respect for the land.
