Pourvoirie Domaine DE L'or-piste

About

Formerly Pourvoirie du Lac Pierre (founded in the late 1960s), Domaine L'OR Piste is a resort nestled in the heart of the Monts-Valin massif, near the 49th parallel between the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean and the Côte-Nord. The northern territory, surrounded by a hundred or so lakes and peaking at nearly 1,000 m, has an early, long winter (November to April) with abundant powder snow. On a Gold Rush (Far West) theme, the domain offers five rustic chalets decorated in barn wood (Le Shérif, Le Pêcheur, Le Trappeur, Le Chasseur, Le Prospecteur; capacities of 6 to 11 people), the Saloon (a multipurpose space and former restaurant available for private rental, 20 to 25 people), a family playground, and free access to lac Pierre for swimming and boating (kayaks, pedal boats, paddle boards and rowboats included for guests). In winter, the domain serves as a base camp for trail and off-trail snowmobiling (December to March 31) and off-trail skiing; in summer and fall, for ATV/quad riding, hiking, and watching boreal wildlife (moose, boreal lynx, woodland caribou, red fox, hare, partridge, ruffed grouse) and the northern lights thanks to the absence of light pollution. Since the territory is non-exclusive-rights, fishing is open and free, done independently (the operator notes "we are no longer an outfitter"). Small-game hunting, spring black bear hunting and moose hunting are advertised on the territory. Acquired in August 2020 by the Marchand-Bergeron duo, the domain is in 2026 transitioning from an outfitter lease to a commercial-vacation lease, reorienting its DNA toward high-end chalet rental, adventure tourism and ecotourism.
