About

Pourvoirie Coucou sits on an exclusive 138 km² hunting and fishing territory in the Vallée-de-la-Gatineau, in the Outaouais, crossed by 3 rivers and dotted with more than 75 lakes. This is moose and black bear country: the territory is carved into 19 separate sectors, each set up with stands and blinds, so one party never runs into the next. Small-game hunting — partridge, spruce grouse, hare — takes over at the end of October once the moose season closes. On the fishing side, trout, walleye and northern pike come off the territory's lakes, several of them a few steps from the cabins, as well as off the Gatineau River; boats are provided on the lakes, and some waters, limited to electric motors or a canoe, offer fly fishing of rare quiet. Lodging is in fully furnished cabins sleeping up to 8, each one set on its own lake in its own secluded sector, with propane lighting, fridge, stove, wood stove and a full set of dishes. European plan: you cook, the territory does the rest.

No rate published today. The outfitter's official website (coucouriverlodge.com, confirmed as the 'official site' by the tourism directories) no longer resolves: NXDOMAIN on both the apex and the www host, verified 2026-08-21. No live rate page exists and no booking engine was found. For historical reference only — NOT published: the operator's former site showed in 2019 'European plan: $625 per person for 7 days', minimum 4 hunters, non-refundable deposits, 1 moose per group of 4 hunters and 2 moose per group of 6; the 2017 version of the same site showed $550 per hunter for 7 days. The rates moved between those two versions and the figures are several seasons stale, so they are not carried over as published prices. Season advertised by the operator: mid-September to late October, plus two bow weeks in early September. The territory is split into 19 hunting sectors with stands and blinds set up.

No rate published today (official site NXDOMAIN, verified 2026-08-21; no booking engine). For historical reference only — NOT published: the operator's former site showed in 2019 'European plan: $70 per person, per day' (non-refundable deposits) plus 'motor rental $15 per day'. Several seasons stale, so not carried over as published prices. Season advertised by the operator: opening at the end of April for trout and on May 15 for pike and walleye. Fishing on the territory's lakes — several are a few steps from the cabins, others take a short walk — as well as on the Gatineau River. Boats are provided on every lake; some lakes allow electric motors only, and the smaller trout lakes suit a canoe or an inflatable pontoon. The operator writes 'truite', read here as brook trout (omble de fontaine), the standard Quebec usage; walleye and northern pike are named explicitly, and pike is confirmed in 2026 by the regional tourism listing.
