About

Pourvoirie Chibougamau is a walleye and northern pike fishing destination on a European plan, set on a peninsula between Lac Laganière (8 km) and Lac des Canots (13 km), at the gateway to the Nord-du-Québec and the Baie-James region, in zone 29. Its lightly pressured lakes are known for their abundance (house records: a 13 lb walleye in 2018, a 25 lb northern pike in 2017). Two fishing formulas: fishing on the adjacent lakes, and "adventure fishing" in an expedition format that opens up around thirty little-exploited lakes reachable by ATV (anglers bring their own vehicle). Lodging is in comfortable chalets (2 to 8 people, joinable), built in 2002-2003 and rated 4 stars by the Fédération des pourvoiries du Québec: equipped kitchen, running hot water, shower, wood heating and solar power. Access : By road

Road access. Coordinates: 50°07'26" N / 73°38'50" W; Lac Laganière, Chibougamau (Quebec) G8P 2Y8. The operator warns NOT to rely on Google/Bing/GPS itineraries, which cause a large detour. From the south (e.g. Montréal/Québec), follow Route 155 north then 169 and 167 north to Chibougamau; cross the town staying on Route 167; past the Chibougamau hospital, continue about 8 km on the 167 to km marker 242, where a large sign marks the entrance on the right. Turn right onto the gravel road (forestry-company road), continue to km marker 59 (small sign on the left), turn left and continue 7 km to the outfitter.
