About
Pourvoirie du lac Oscar spreads across a vast 234 km² exclusive territory in the Haute-Mauricie (zone 26), deep in the forest and on the shores of its many lakes and the immense réservoir Blanc, a wild waterway navigable for more than 80 km. A passion of the Farrar family since the late 1960s, the outfitter is today one of the largest in Quebec. For fishing, you cast for trout (brook trout and lake trout) on a dozen lakes and streams, and for walleye and pike on the réservoir Blanc. For hunting, the outfitter offers moose hunting on exclusive 12–28 km² sectors (groups of 4, one moose per group), small-game hunting (partridge/grouse, spruce grouse, hare) and, in spring, a guided bear hunt over baited sites. Lodging is in fully equipped white-pine cabins (European plan), from the family waterfront cabin to new cabins built in 2022-2023, several with direct access to beautiful sand beaches. Swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding, canoeing, hiking, cycling, wildlife and bird watching and a wellness retreat (meditation, Qi Gong, conscious breathing) round out the offering.

Access : By road
Car access (the last 48 km are gravel). Route from La Tuque: on Route 155 north, take the first exit for La Tuque; on leaving La Tuque, follow the blue government signs for Pourvoirie Oscar; then take forestry road 25 west. The outfitter is on the right at km 50, just after the bridge (the route differs from Google Maps). GPS coordinates: N 47° 35.21 – W 73° 22.27. Topographic map 31P/11, zone 26. The office (administrative address) is at 37 rue René-Collard, Sainte-Catherine-de-la-Jacques-Cartier — this is not the outfitter's site.
