Chalets des Bouleaux

Established in 1942 and passed down from father to son for three generations, Chalets des Bouleaux (also known as Chalets Bondu) is a family vacation outfitter in the Laurentians, near Mont-Laurier, in Notre-Dame de Pontmain. Its twelve cabins line the shores of Lac du Camp, which connects within less than a kilometre to the Rivière du Lièvre, and offer a panoramic view of the lake and mountains. The cabins (2 to 7 double beds, some up to 14 people) all have electricity and hot water, with an equipped kitchen, shower, fireplace and, in some, a wood stove; pets are accepted at no charge. Fishing is the flagship activity — walleye, bass, yellow perch and pike on Lac du Camp and the Rivière du Lièvre — complemented by an exclusive-rights lake developed for brook (speckled) and rainbow trout (transport and electric-motor boat provided). On the private, non-exclusive-rights land you can also hunt white-tailed deer, ruffed grouse and hare (bow or firearm, zone 10 West), and in summer enjoy boating, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, cycling and hiking.
