Chalets Baie du Sud

Chalets Baie du Sud occupies a wild, quiet corner of the Réservoir Gouin, on the Baie du Sud (the former name of Lac Bureau), renowned for its excellent walleye and northern pike fishing. Seven round-log cabins, each with a maximum capacity of 6 people, sit on a birch-covered hillside less than 150 feet from the water, offering a spectacular view. Everything is included for comfortable fishing: a fleet of 28 Mercury 20 HP 4-stroke motors and 25 sixteen-foot fibreglass or aluminum boats, unlimited gas, and fishing right next to the cabins all season long. Each cabin is fully equipped (2 bedrooms, electricity, hot-water shower, propane range, fridge-freezer, wood stove, BBQ, 4G WiFi), and the site offers a sauna, gazebo, outdoor kitchen, a fish-cleaning cabin and a shared freezer. In season, the territory also offers bear hunting (baited sites, stands), guided moose hunting (4th week of September to mid-October, a single group per week) and small-game hunting (hare, partridge, spruce grouse) on a very lightly hunted territory. The many islands and sandy beaches also make it a peaceful spot for a family holiday. Stays are on the European plan; dogs are welcome. Your host, Marc-André Lavigne, has owned the outfitter for more than 19 years and lives here year-round.
