Camp Denis

About
Camp Denis is a hunting and fishing outfitter in the heart of Abitibi-Témiscamingue, in the Rapide-Sept area on Réservoir Décelles. Known as 'the black bear specialists,' it runs 63+ active bait sites equipped with cameras, plus ground blinds and single and double tree stands — including sites accessible to physically challenged hunters — for a 7-day spring bear hunt offered in May and June with an advertised success rate in the high 80% to mid 90%; the package includes lodging, licenses, three meals a day, field dressing, processing and guide service. In the fall it adds moose hunting (road hunt and spot-and-stalk, with two Outpost Moose Camps available on request) and small game hunting. For fishing, from May to October, Réservoir Décelles holds trophy walleye and northern pike as well as sturgeon (legal to keep from June 15), and the Ottawa River offers excellent shoreline fishing; guide, boat, motor, gas, bait and lures are all available on site. Lodging is in 13 modern cabins with full kitchens and showers; trailer and tent campsites are also available, and the camps are handicap-accessible. Pets and children are welcome and Sunday hunting is legal.
