Camp Bonaventure

Camp Bonaventure is a classic fly-fishing lodge described as one of the finest sporting lodges in North America. Nestled in a stand of white birch on the bank of the Bonaventure River, on the Gaspé Coast, it offers fly-fishing for two species: Atlantic salmon and striped bass. For salmon, anglers fish three of Gaspé's most renowned rivers — the Bonaventure (known for its water clarity and sight-casting), the Petite Cascapedia and the world-famous Grand Cascapedia, home of the Cascapedia Giants — from traditional 26-foot river canoes and by wading depending on the season (June through September). For striped bass, anglers fish the sea in La Baie-des-Chaleurs aboard a bay boat or skiff, sight-fishing along the shore or working deeper waters. The main lodge, built in 1993, sleeps up to eight guests in four double bedrooms each with a private bathroom, gathered around a thirty-foot river-stone fireplace; a two-bedroom guest house rounds out the accommodations. Home-style cuisine by Executive Chef Diane, with meals and beverages included and supper paired with wine. A dedicated Rod Room for gear. Packages run 3, 4 or 7 days per angler, plus combined and custom multi-lodge itineraries linking the company's three lodges.
