About

Set on the mountainside in sector 3 of the majestic Matapédia River, in the Gaspésie, the Auberge-Pourvoirie de la Rivière Matapédia overlooks the rapids at the Routhierville covered-bridge pool and the Appalachian mountains. It is the address of choice for salmon anglers, with Atlantic salmon fishing by canoe (sector 3) and wading (sectors 1 and 3), guided all-inclusive packages of 4 to 6 nights, and per-day guiding services on the Matapédia, Matane, Métis and Restigouche rivers. The lodge also offers moose hunting in Zone 2 on private, exclusive land, winter ice fishing (brook trout, perch, smelt), striped bass fishing, and a wealth of outdoor activities — kayak and canoe, cycling, snowmobiling, ATV, camping. The four-star lodging comes in an American plan (three meals plus snacks for the river) or a European plan, with a homemade table d'hôte, a terrace and campfires. Owner: André Bélaieff.
