About

Tucked into the heart of the Appalachians, La Baronnie de Kamouraska is one of the best-kept secrets of the Bas-Saint-Laurent. Its 65.2 km² exclusive-rights territory (hunting, fishing and trapping), within a larger 656.2 km² accessible domain, sits at over 550 metres of elevation near Lac de l'Est, between La Pocatière and Rivière-du-Loup. Mountainous terrain, century-old hardwood and softwood forests and a watershed of 5 main lakes make it a territory known for moose, black bear and winged game (partridge and migratory birds). Brook trout fishing is offered across 5 lakes restricted to electric motors, ideal for learning fly fishing. In spring and summer it also welcomes guests for nature getaways, wildlife watching, hiking and mountain biking. Lodging is in cabins, from the Chalet du Baron Ephraim, a historic waterside lodge that sleeps ten, to the rustic L'orignal, La perdrix and Lac Perdu cabins.
