About

Jack Hume Adventures now operates as Caniapiscau Expeditions, run by owner-pilot Richard Hume. At the end of the Trans-Taïga Road in Northern Quebec, the Lac Pau base camps offer comfortable, solar-powered lodging with 24-hour electricity, just 5 minutes from the Caniapiscau Reservoir, the largest body of freshwater in Quebec. The fishing reaches some of the best lake-trout waters in Canada, along with landlocked salmon, northern pike and brook trout. Meals follow the American plan (breakfast, packed lunch, home-cooked supper). Boat rentals, possible guide service, and refrigeration and storage services are available. To go further, book a flight in a DHC-2 Beaver with Richard Hume (30+ years of experience) to remote fishing sites or for sightseeing — you choose the route.
