About

Poirier Fish and Game Territory is an exclusive-rights outfitter spread across 320 km² (124 mi²) bordering La Vérendrye Wildlife Reserve, on Delahey Lake near Maniwaki. Founded in the 1940s and still owned by the same family, the outfitter was issued its first outfitter's licence in 1947. Anglers fish for walleye, northern pike, lake trout and speckled trout, and hunters pursue black bear (over baited sites), moose (exclusive territories rented by the week) and small game. The territory has 14 cottages at the main camp (mostly used by anglers, campers and bear hunters) plus 27 outpost cabins (mostly used by moose hunters). Lodging is in housekeeping-equipped camps and cottages (propane stove, BBQ, electric fridge, dishes and utensils, wood or propane heat, indoor toilet and shower, screened porch; no electrical outlets, bring your own drinking water). Guests can also enjoy canoeing, kayaking, swimming, bird watching and photography. A perfect spot for a family, couples or friends getaway. Domestic animals are not allowed on the territory.
