Pourvoirie Lac la Truite

In the heart of Témiscamingue, Pourvoirie Lac la Truite watches over 438 km² of exclusive-rights territory, bordered to the east by the La Vérendrye wildlife reserve and to the south by zec Kipawa. This is zone 13, moose country: a herd estimated at more than 188 animals, an early season stretching over five weeks, one moose per two hunters and one of the best success rates in Quebec — the result of capping hunter numbers for more than 40 years. Black bear is hunted over professionally baited sites, on a territory expanded to 1,000 km² through an agreement with neighbouring zec Kipawa. On the fishing side — reserved exclusively for guests staying on site — walleye, lake trout (grey trout) and northern pike thrive in Trout, Winawiash, Bay and Hoff lakes, with no size limit and the long-standing six-walleye limit. You stay at the Lac la Truite inn overlooking the lake of the same name, or in cabins and camps scattered across the territory, some of which give their guests exclusive use of the lake they sit on. European or American plan, guide service, shore lunch, topographic maps, gas station, licence sales, boat and motor rentals, and access to both the La Vérendrye wildlife reserve (Old Man Lake) and zec Kipawa (Ross Lake, Ogascanan Lake).
