On the sandy shores of the Baskatong reservoir in the Outaouais, Camping Union Baskatong – Pourvoirie Chez Rainville has been welcoming outdoor lovers for more than 50 years. Walleye fishing is the headline here: plentiful, high-quality and clearly on the rebound, it delights beginners and die-hards alike, and the largest rental fleet of fishing boats on the Baskatong equips you for your days on the water — more than 300 km² of navigable water and 2,500 km of sandy shoreline to explore. The property counts 21 fully equipped chalets, 2 trailers, a shelter and 229 campsites (two- or three-service, plus seasonal sites), including the widest selection of transient sites with an unobstructed lake view. The marina offers full service: rentals of motorboats, 21- to 24-foot pontoons, canoes, kayaks and paddleboards, dock rentals and a boat launch. On site you will find a beach with a giant inflatable water game, a playground, a marquee, hiking trails, pétanque and beach-volleyball courts, horseshoe pits and an observation lookout; high-speed WiFi is free and electric-vehicle charging stations are installed on the grounds. The season runs from mid-May to mid-October.

Road access — the operator states that the road is paved right up to the site, on the shore of the Baskatong reservoir at Grand-Remous. A PIN generated at booking and attached to the contract opens the gates on arrival. Full marina on site, with the best water access on the Baskatong: self-service boat launch free for transient campers staying more than 3 nights, assisted launch $21.00 for a regular boat or a pontoon and $117.42 for a sailboat (per entry or per exit), dock rental $31.70 ($35.29 with power). The reservoir's water level fluctuates a great deal from May to October; the operator recommends navigating with marine charts and asking for advice about the lake's different sectors, and publishes nine bathymetric maps (white zones safe for a 5-foot draft).
