About

Air Mont-Laurier serves a network of exclusive-rights outfitting camps by floatplane, flying out of its Laurentians seaplane base on the shore of Lac Tibériade at Rivière-Rouge (Sainte-Véronique sector). Fishing happens at Pourvoirie Lac du Mâle, on the Gouin Reservoir, known for its walleye and northern pike from early May to mid-September: five comfortable cabins at the main site, two more set back on the west shore, plus a kitchen and dining room for parties of eight or more. At Pourvoirie Jesmer, south of Clova, sixteen cabins are spread across a territory where every lake is exclusive — a single cabin per lake: seven lakes of native brook trout that has never been stocked, and the two Dorothy lakes, home to big northern pike. Moose hunting takes place in Zone 14, self-guided, on foot along a trail network with stands and boats provided: sixteen sub-territories at Jesmer and nine at Pourvoirie Tibériade, south of Parent, split by the Némikachi River and so untouched it feels like stepping back a hundred years. Every package includes the round-trip flight from the seaplane base, a fully equipped private cabin on the European plan, and aerial surveillance every two days. The fleet — one Turbo-Otter, two Beavers and two Cessnas — also handles charters and custom packages anywhere in Quebec.

Access : Fly-in

The outfitting camps are reachable by floatplane only. The departure point is the Air Mont-Laurier seaplane base, on the shore of Lac Tibériade, in the Sainte-Véronique sector of Rivière-Rouge (Laurentians), which also houses the booking and coordination centre and the aircraft maintenance centre. To reach the base by road: take Route 117 and exit at Sainte-Véronique, 20 km north of Rivière-Rouge (L'Annonciation), then follow the boulevard toward the village for about 2 km — the seaplane base is on your right. From the west: Route 50 East, exit 309 north toward Mont-Laurier, then Route 117 south for 50 km to the Sainte-Véronique exit. The round-trip flight from the base to your cabin is included in the fishing and hunting packages; baggage is capped at 100 lb (45 kg) per person, with overweight charged at $2.00/lb for fishing and $2.50/lb for hunting. For hunts, moose transport costs $800 for the group and an early group pick-up $995 for the group. Hunting and fishing licences, earthworms and territory topographic maps (Jesmer 31-O/11, Tibériade 31-O/9) are sold at the seaplane base, which also houses the cold room for the harvested moose; satellite phone rental is available there too. Territories served: the Gouin Reservoir (Lac du Mâle), south of Clova (Jesmer) and south of Parent (Tibériade). An aerial patrol flies over the camps at least every two days; a panel (red = emergency, yellow = need help) is kept in each camp to be set out on the dock.
