About

Sasseginaga Outpost is a remote, family-owned and operated fishing lodge on Lake Sasseginaga in the ZEC Kipawa region of western Quebec. Known for its walleye, northern pike and lake trout fishing, the lake runs about 12 miles long and over 2 miles wide, dotted with many islands (the translation of 'Sasseginaga') and full of rocky shoals, sunken humps and points that hold fish. Its tough access — a single road, roughly 45 miles of it gravel — keeps fishing pressure to a minimum and the fishery healthy, with trophy walleye over 28 inches caught every season and slot limits in place. Lodging is in comfortable, modern housekeeping cabins, with each package including a boat with a 9.9hp motor and the first tank of gas for every 2 adults plus the ZEC permit. The lodge also offers spring black bear hunting and fall moose hunting, in limited numbers to protect the populations. An off-grid wilderness experience on the Canadian Shield, where loons and the occasional moose share water with almost no traffic.
